Framing without Glass
This video shares the process that I like to use with some of my watercolor
paintings on paper and how to frame them without glass. You will see five
demonstrations on mounting blank watercolor paper, a print, original artwork
and problem solving. I will show you how I seal and protect them with UV
protection, along with a few extra additional features on how to get the
most authentic signature on dark backgrounds and a special treat creating
a triptych. The triptych at the end of the video will be hanging at the
Bolinas Museum next to oil and acrylic paintings. By using this process
it offers an additional way too add dimension to watercolor paintings.This
video is designed so that the average artist can easily achieve professional
results without a huge investment and by using many items already found

with practical knowledge and simplifying the painting process and not about
specific product endorsements. Part 1-
step by step exercises, mixing color, values, general product information
about brushes, paper & paint, how to tear it. Right and wrong
side of the paper, building color etc. Part
2- step by step exercises starting a painting, building
color, layering, tips, fun and universal techniques, how to use salt, coffee,
foil, plastic wrap, travel sketching,, wet-into-wet floral and landscape,
using a straw, leaving an area white, etc. A handbook should soon be available.
This will be great tool for teachers to help their students understand
watercolor.
